Care Guide

Washing

• Please note that cotton gauze, by its nature, is a more fragile fabric than other bed linen materials. It’s important to avoid it coming into contact with velcro, unsanded wood, cat’s claws, set jewellery and sharp objects, etc. to prevent threads from being pulled.
• Always separate whites from colours and sort the laundry according to the washing temperatures shown on the labels.
• Cotton gauze should be washed at a moderate temperature, ideally between 30 and 40°C.
• Do not overload your washing machine!
• If you have bought matching items, try to wash them together as much as possible to avoid colour variations.
• Use a mild detergent and avoid products containing aggressive bleaching agents that could damage the cotton gauze fibres.
• Favour washing inside-out.
• Opt for a cycle for delicate textiles to minimise abrasion and preserve the softness of the fabric. Avoid intensive wash cycles or vigorous spin-drying, which could cause excessive creasing.
• In the event of a stain, act very quickly while respecting the instructions provided on the product’s label. Use a mild stain remover or a mix of warm water and mild soap and gently dab the stain before placing your sheet in the machine. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this could damage the fibres of your cotton gauze.

Drying

• When possible, we recommend drying your linen sheets in the open air. Spread your cotton gauze sheets out flat or on a clothesline away from direct sunlight. This will preserve the slightly wrinkled texture of the fabric.
• If you prefer to use a tumble dryer, select a low or delicate programme to avoid excessive shrinkage and damage to cotton gauze fibres.

Ironing

• Cotton gauze products have a natural slightly creased and embossed effect that might increase over time.
• The advantage of the cotton gauze is that it doesn’t require any ironing. The fabric keeps it natural lightly crumpled and embossed cotton gauze over time.
• If you prefer more even sheets, you can iron them. In this case, set your iron to a medium to high temperature and iron the sheets lightly humidified. Use water spray to lightly dampen creased areas before ironing. Don’t forget to clean the soleplate of your iron regularly to avoid stains on white or light-coloured sheets.
