Care Guide
Washing
Always separate whites from colours and sort the laundry according to the washing temperatures shown on the labels.
Do not overfill your machine!
If you have bought matching items, always try to wash them together to avoid colour variations.
Cotton percale sheets can be washed at 60°, even 95° as they are made to resist to Hotels industrial laundries, but we advise you to favour washing at 30°-40° for all sheets, which is just as effective as at higher temperatures. This protects the fabrics, the environment and… your wallet.
To be environmentally friendly, we recommend washing at room temperature with a liquid detergent.
Favour washing inside-out
In the event of a stain, act very quickly while respecting the instructions provided on the product’s label; remove the stain with an appropriate product before washing.
Drying
Dry the laundry immediately after washing and do not leave it in a damp ball in the drum of the machine to avoid too much crinkle effect.
Spread out and smooth the damp laundry to avoid any white marks.
In the tumble dryer, use a gentle programme and quickly remove the laundry after the cycle to avoid crinkle effect.
To be environmentally friendly, we recommend drying flat or in the open air.
Ironing
Kalani products do not need to be ironed, laying them out or tumble drying them is enough most of the time (except for Cotton Percale which is a material that should not be ironed if you accept that it is crumpled for an urban look, but which on the other hand requires intense ironing if you like military square sheets).
If you iron the Cotton Percale, we recommend washing the sheets with a spin-dryer at 800-900 rpm maximum and ironing while the laundry is still damp.
If you always iron all your textiles, we recommend ironing on the reverse side for all products with prints and embroideries.
Don’t forget to regularly clean the soleplate of your iron to avoid stains on white and light-coloured sheets.
